Portuguese-American driver André Fernandes is set to make his debut in the 2026 GT Winter Series, joining AF Motorsport for the two Portuguese rounds at the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve and Circuito do Estoril.

Fernandes will compete in a Porsche 991.2 GT3 R run by AF Motorsport, marking his first appearance in the series at the wheel of a GT3 spec car.

In 2025, Fernandes competed in the Porsche Carrera Cup Southern Europe with Veloso Motorsport, enjoying a highly successful campaign in the AM class. He secured multiple class victories at Circuit Ricardo Tormo in Spain and at Circuito do Estoril in Portugal. Veloso Motorsport also fielded a strong line-up throughout the season, with Patrick Cunha and Jorge Rodrigues contributing to the team’s overall success.

Alongside his recent Carrera Cup Southern Europe programme, Fernandes brings a wealth of international experience, having previously competed in Iberian Supercars and the Porsche Carrera Cup North America.

AF Motorsport has also confirmed that it remains open to running additional entries during the 2026 GT Winter Series. Both Porsche 991 and 992 Cup cars are available, with the 991 eligible for the Cup X category, designed for older-spec machinery.
